I really loved playing himand I still have ideas for his muse but...lately, he's been too much of a drain on my RP-ing. Playing someone that evil with so many plans going around his head is...I found it hard.

I've dropped Ozai.

Yuletide is a yearly fic exchange for rare/uncommon fandoms. You can enter up to four fandom/pairing or character requests, and the stories are revealed on Christmas.

This year, for the first time (as far as I know), So Weird is on the list of fandoms for which you can offer to write a story or request someone to write a story for you. So if you're (still) interested in reading and/or writing a So Weird fic, go sign up!

Signups end at 9 p.m. Eastern time/6 p.m. Pacific time Thursday, November 12 (a.k.a. this Thursday). More information is available here.

Title: The Vocabulary Conundrum
Author: Jenn (~stargated)
Spoilers: Some early Season 3 happenings.
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 Because Hank likes to swear with the big words.
Word Count: 1105
Disclaimer: TBBT locations, characters, etc do not belong to me. Henrietta "Hank" Ward is a product of my imagination. Rachel Bilson belongs to herself.
Comments: How much do I wish I still played WoW right now. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. It's one of those games that I can totally geek out on and when they make references to it on my favorite tv shows I can't help but squee. If it didn't cost so freaking much (and if I had my own working computer) I'd so be back in the game, leveling up favorite paladin. For the record, it feels like I've been waiting to get to this little tiny scene forever. This one is probably MY Favorite.

Scene One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven (A). (B). (C). (D). Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve.

Hank, behind you! )

THE THINGS I COULD NEVER TELL YOU MEME.

It's not that hard. There are some things we can say in character, and we do. However, what about the things that we can't? Why not do it here?

STEP ONE: CUT A HOLE IN A BOX READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, DUH.
STEP TWO: REPLY HERE WITH ALL YOUR CHARACTERS, ONE PER COMMENT
STEP THREE: REPLY ICLY TO PEOPLE TELLING CHARACTERS THAT YOURS CAN NEVER SAY TO THEM
STEP FOUR: PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS DOES NOT COUNT TOWARDS CANON UNLESS THE OTHER PARTY AGREES

Thank you to [info]fightingwords for pointing this out.

From the Wiki article:

Keiko Fukuda (born April 12, 1913) is the highest-ranking female practitioner of judo in the world.

She was born in Tokyo, and began the practice of judo in 1935 at the age of 21. She was invited to study judo by Kano Jigoro, the founder of the martial art, because of his relationship with her grandfather, Fukuda Hachinosuke, who had taught Tenjin Shinyō-ryū Jujutsu to Kano a number of years prior. Fukuda is the last living pupil of Dr Kano.

In 1973, Fukuda published Born for the Mat, an instructional book intended for women about the kata of kodokan judo. Fukuda currently holds a 9th degree black belt (9th dan) in judo. She was awarded a rare red belt in judo by the United States Judo Federation in 2001 for her lifelong contribution to the martial art. In January 2006, at its annual Kagami Biraki New Years celebration, the Kodokan Judo Institute also awarded her the 9th degree black belt (9th dan). She is the only woman to ever hold this high a rank from any recognized judo organization.

She is 96 and still teaching classes. Flying Carp Productions is doing a documentary on her life, and are still looking for donations if you want to help. The link to donate is here. Here's a clip from it:

... I have a really, really good chance of making straight A's this semester.

I am entirely too excited about this :Db I have yet to make straight A's in a single semester in college so far, so I'm super pumped.

I WONDER if I can hold my parents to that 'get straight A's and well pay you' deal they made for me back in high school. Considering... back in high school, they never followed through with it 8|;;;

***WARNING: Comments may contain spoilers***

I got to thinking... When Bill Prady wanted Wil Wheaton's guest appearance episode to be the highest rated he challenged the fans to do stuff to help him out. It got great results including some fan made shirts.

Well I want Nov. 16th to do even better. I want to show the creators that the backbone of this show, the ratings grabber, is still Sheldon and Penny. What can we do to spread the hype? I'm sort of spamming up the Big Bang Theory topic section on Twitter with reminders, but I'd like to see something more fun and creative [and not just say the words "Is it Nov. 16th yet?" over and over.

Official Princess Tutu Secret Santa Exchange 2009 Assignments Post

Okay Ladies and Gentlemen!

Sign ups have ended. We have an excel spreadsheet listing all of the match ups.

We had a nice turn out this year with 51 participants.

[info]asatira has sent out the assignment notices via LJ Private Message and DA Notes to people that are exclusively DA-users. (The links should take you to your message inbox if you're logged in.)

If you have not received your assignment (or have lost the message), please comment here, and I will give you your assignment again. (Have your LJ comment email notification turned on as I will delete the comment giving you your assignment right after posting it. That way you'll have the info in your email inbox and it won't be out for everyone to see.)

The following people had LJ PMs disabled
so that [info]asatira could not send them their assignment:

[info]jupiter_star
[info]lacks_a_life
[info]moezychan

Assignment Changes: Everyone has 1 week from today to request any assignment changes, it's tough cookies after that (November 17th). If you absolutely cannot handle your SS assignment contact [info]asatira or [info]lycorne within 1 week to request an assignment change, and let us know what is forcing the switch request so we can try to not repeat the same issue. (Please keep in mind that gen or single-character-focused gifts are acceptable if your shipping preferences do not match up.)
However, I do very much discourage assignment switching. I hope that in the seasonal spirit-of-giving, our SS's do not get picky about your assignments. I spent 5 hours last night doing my best to try to match everyone up with as little conflict as I could manage for the two secret santas I'm running. (A total of 73 people. My brain hurts.)

If you want to ask your giftee questions prior to the gift-giving period, I suggest making anonymous comments in response to their surveys on the sign-ups post. Check back to see when you get questions or answers, or ask me to act as a mediator. (I'll play messenger as best I can, but please keep in mind that I have a full time job.)
